On festive days and Sundays between March 18 and November 18, it is possible to visit the Fairy-Park and explore the route dedicated to the myths of Nordic fairy-tales. Here the children, led by expert animators, can enjoy wonderful adventures, while adults will recall their youth. On the days listed below, it is possible to visit the Fairy-Tale Park, visit the Castle and witness the following historic reconstructions:
There is a small medieval village at Gropparello Castle but who lives in the wood? The woodcutter lives there, a hard worker and guardian of the wood, the miner who extracts highly precious stones that he gives to the Pilgrims, the soft and gentle fairies, the mischievous, endearing and vain sprites, the elves, the Druids … No doubt there will be witches searching for herbs for their harmful potions. What about the ogre? He’s enormous compared to the woodcutter … will there be pilgrims willing to confront him? When you enter the Fairy-Tale Park, forget your own world and prepare to be fascinated by the kingdom of fantasy and magic as you experience scenes of life from the medieval age.
Accompanied by a guide along the route, the Pilgrims become involved in scenes from everyday medieval life. All children who hold a ticket to the Park will be dressed as knights so that they can have a fantastic adventure. ADMISSION TICKETS (prices valid only for Sundays and festive days):

Gropparello Castle and its From 10:00 till 14:00 hours Ophiolitic cliff area of Higher Jurassic period NATURE ROUTE Can be visited only by booking from March to November Geological adventure between the titanic forces of water and fire … on the bare rock, beneath the stars, An ophiolitic complex of immense grandeur rises in the wild Val Vezzeno. Here the ancient Celts carved their sacrificial altar. Thousands of years later, Charlemagne gave permission to Bishop Julian II to build his castrum (fort), now known as Gropparello Castle.A steep path falls along the ravine by the stream. It is immersed in a flourishing vegetation of considerable botanical significance. Thanks to the particular micro-climate offered by the combination of the “warm” green rock and the humidity of the Vezzeno stream, the Iceland lichen, carob tree and Scots pine share this environment.
Here, in the company of a nature guide, the children can follow the tracks and trails of wild animals. Immersed in the intense greenery, they can further their knowledge of Creation and the evolution of plants and animals in territory that featured in the shifting of the Earth’s plates and the withdrawal of the oceans. Fossil remains were left behind, as well as a panorama still to this day unspoiled and rich in “Adamitic” atmosphere able to re-wake in all of us a strong sensation of equilibrium between Man and Nature. The setting favours environmental education, with the introduction of the first concepts associated with “sustainable development”. Given the previous success, including in 2005, we will offer the “Grape Festival” for 4 successive Sundays. “May the children come into the vat”!” shouts the vine dresser, while beating on the cauldron! Beware of Besgan, the imp of the Black Grape… From September 2, the day of the “Grape Festival” and until September 30 the children may press grapes in the vats and take the must home or to school, with the marc. A school or family that has produced wine with the must from the pressing at Gropparello Castle may take two bottles of wine on the first Sunday in June 2007 to the “Court Wedding” event, when the wine from the children from all the schools and families who pressed grapes in the autumn of 2006 will be sampled. A certificate of participation will be given to those who take part. One of the two bottles with the attached label from the castle will be given back, while the other bottle will join the collection of wines in the cellar of Gropparello Castle. The local and provincial authorities for agriculture will attend. Enjoy yourselves! For more information, we invite you to visit the section info & ticket |

Moments from the arrival of the food at the castle, the preparation of the dishes and the displays of meat and fruit serve as the choreography that allow a close familiarity with the ancient system of food supply, food preparation, old varieties of fruit and the setting up of the banquet in the 13th and 14th Centuries.
All the dishes are prepared in our Kitchen with high quality materials. Despite the medieval theme, our cook decided to replace the old Castle ice-houses with the most advanced cooling techniques. Once slaughtered, the pig may be stored frozen for a maximum of one month.
